Lemon, the Wonder Fruit
Ayurveda praises lemons for their miraculous healing potential. Lemons are the only citrus fruit that turn alkaline in your body, and therefore are beneficial for every dosha. Every morning, squeeze ½ a lemon into a cup of warm water (boiled and slightly cooled) and drink. Not only will this increase your digestion and eliminate toxins, it will keep unwanted weight gain at bay.
You can also drink this throughout the day, between meals, and before and after meals. This is one of the key pieces of advice from our friend Dr. Deepak Chopra, who, to loosely paraphrase, has publicly touted that a person should always drink lemon juice with their water, several times daily, for prime health.
